Sautéed Kohlrabi Greens
What to do with the leaves and stalks of kohlrabi? They can be easily shredded into a salad or made into a tasty side dish as in this recipe : a simple sauté with some added citrus freshness.
Leaves and stalks of 3 Kohlrabi (kohlrabi greens)
1 Tbsp Groundnut Oil – Olive would also be good
½ Onion – Sliced or chopped
½ Lemon Juice
Salt & Pepper to taste
Finely chop the leaves and stalks of the kohlrabi.
Heat a Sauté pan on medium, then add the oil.
When at heat, add the onion with a pinch of salt and fry for 4 minutes, until just starting to brown.
Add the kohlrabi and 50ml water, stir and then cover to steam for 10 minutes.
Check the pan and add more water to steam for a further 5 to 10 minutes until desired tenderness is achieved.
Add the lemon juice and season with salt and pepper to taste, then serve.
