Recruiting non-exec directors
We're looking for committed individuals to compliment the range of Director skills on the board. We require dynamic and motivated people who are sympathetic to the aims and objectives of Crop Drop to fulfil these voluntary duties. We expect Directors to contribute actively to the Board by giving strategic direction; defining goals and setting targets; evaluating performance; ensuring the organisation's effective and efficient administration and financial stability.
We want to have a wide range of people on the Board, and seek to be representative of the diverse population of the borough. There's no need to have previous experience of being a non-exec director to apply. An interest in food, farming and sustainablility is necessary and a familiarity with the Haringey area is preferable.
In addition, on the basis of a recent skills audit, we are looking for people with
Marketing & PR experience
Accounting and Financial planning experience
Human Resources experience
Directors are expected to:
- Attend up to six meetings a year including quarterly Board meetings
- Contribute advice and support on an ad hoc basis.
- If they are able to, directors can also get involved in support work including fixed-term projects

About Crop Drop
Crop Drop is a social enterprise on a mission to transform the current damaging food system into something that is fair, sustainable and healthy. We provide people with fresh organic local produce at affordable prices whilst supporting small organic farms and urban growers.
We do this through a not-for-profit veg box scheme. Through this we promote a greater connection with seasonal food, farmers and nature. This is a very local scheme, operating in the London Borough of Haringey only. We're also a key member of a consortium creating a community food hub in Haringey on a 3.5-acre ex-council plant nursery site. This is a mixed-use site for growing, learning, community and sustainability projects.
